Islesford Historical Society

The Islesford Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, and and presentation of Little Cranberry Island and the surrounding area. We are located in the back of the Islesford Library, in the Neighborhood House.

Our History

The Islesford Historical Society was founded in 1990 by Hugh "Buddy" Dwelley. The IHS room was added on to the Neighborhood House Library in 1998.

The purpose of the Islesford Historical Society is the collection, preservation, presentation and study of the history of the village of Islesford on Little Cranberry Island, Maine and of the other Cranberry Isles and the surrounding area.
